Rev. Catherwood was born and raised in the Rochester, NY area, but moved to Santa Fe, NM for his last two years of High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the USAF where he met his wife Michelle. After having already taken many college classes while in the USAF, he transferred to UNM in Albuquerque, NM, and then to Concordia, Nebraska in order to complete pre-seminary education, where he graduated with a B.A. in Religion in 1998.
He then attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN, graduating with a MDiv in 2003.
His first congregations were Grace and Our Savior Lutheran Churches in Hobbs and Lovington, NM.
In 2011, he was called to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rome, NY. Rev. Catherwood and his wife Michelle have four children.
